Rhymney and Pontlottyn Station remains extant, in
agricultural usage. The station building and both platforms
survive. It is not posible to follow the trackbed immediately to
the soth of the station site, however the trackbed is accessible to the
west and south of Abertysswg. Nothing remains however of Abertysswg
station. |
| It is possible to follow the trackbed southward as far as New
Tredegar and Tirphil station. Much of the route skirts past a
reclaimed colliery site. The platforms of New Tredegar station were
extent when visited, although the southern end may have been since
demolished due to construction of the A4049 New Tredegar bypass. |

| The A4049 New Tredegar bypass has taken over approximately
1km of thrackbed immediately to the south of New Tredegar station as
far as the site of Cwmsyfiog and Brithdir station, of which nothing
remains. Cwmsyfiog station was a wooden halt. |

| The trackbed remains open and accessible between Cwmsyfiog
and Bargoed Station. It passes through dense woodland for much of
the way, and the southern half mile is driveable as a farm access
track. It should be noted that the Bedwellty Road bridge has been
partly demolished. |

| One concrete platform of Bargoed station remains adjacent to
the trackbed, which is a signed cycle path. The trackbed
continues southward to near the site of Aberbargoed Junction, however
the area has been significantly relandscaped near this point. The
embankment taking the mainline across the Rhymney valley has also been
removed. |
