I have also visited a number of other sites associated with the Great
Western Railway in South Wales that are not large enough on their own
to warrant their own page. On this page, I present photographs of the
Cymmer Viaduct in the Afan Valley and also the Roath Branch. The
Roath Branch is not technically abandoned. It is used, as it was built,
for freight to and from Cardiff docks. The southern section of
this line paralleled the abandoned Taff Vale Railwy Roath Branch. The
current route follows the GWR lone for part of the route and the Taff
Vale for the rest of the way.
