Dowlais Cae Harris to Incline Top was partly extant until
2007, the section to the north of the bypass having already been
relandscaped. The Ffos Y Fran opencast mine is in the process of
destroying all relics of the line as far back as Cwmbargoed
sidings. The road bridge at Cwmbargoed and the adjacent abutments
to the L&NW bridge, along with the aqueduct about a quarter of a
mile along the line will be retained. However the small platform
at Incline Top and the curved incline down to Dowlais have all been
lost. The Zig-zag lines will also be lost, although as of June 2009, the Zig-zag line bridge over the former route of the Dowlais Bypass (also to be lost) and another bridge near the bypass are still extant, but not accessible. |
| Nothing remains of Cwmbargoed Station, although the junctions
and old style level crossing gates are still extant. |
|
| The stations at Bedlinog and Trelewis have been demolished. |
|
| Two of the platforms at Nelson and Llancaiach station were
extant but overgrown in 2005. |
