From the 'forced' terminus at Penarth, as far as Cosmeston, the route of the trackbed is mainly open. A short section directly south of Penarth Station has been overbuilt, but the line is walkable for about 2km. The trackbed has been maintained as a 'strip' park. The road bridges, all brick arches are still intact, though remains of Alberta Place Halt and Lower Penarth Station have gone. The site of Lower Penarth Station is now 'Rowan Close'.
Cosmeston Quarry
