Lower Whitchurch Bridge
p>This provided a link form the Llandaf to Queen Street branch to the Ely to Radyr branch of the TVR, allowing northbound access into the Radyr goods yard. With the closure of this yard and its conversion into an industrial estate this bridge was no longer needed. The 400m of line between Ty Mawr Rd Bridge and the Ely branch was closed and removed in 2002. The unusual flared Ty Mawr Rd bridge is still complete although the branch side is now overgrown. The embankment theough Hailey Park has been removed. The Taff bridge is still there but securely fenced off. Apologies for the poor quality of some of the photos of the Radyr Yard due to a grubby camera lens ( I only realised after I had got back home!)Radyr Goods Yard
Closed by 2000 and undergoing redevelopment into an industrial estate. All tracks and sleepers have been lifted and buildings demolished. There are still some chunks of coal lying around.
