Trackbed at Maesraul / Cross Inn junction is accessible and open to the A473 Cross Inn bypass. |
| Quality of track between A473 and Rhiwsaeson varies as is mainly on private or agricultural land.Trackbed accessible at a number of points from the parallel road. and at Rhiwsaeson | |
| Trackbed open for some distance to east of Rhiwsaeson | |
| The section between Criegiau Road bridge and the Barry railway crossing is open but very muddy, now a streambed. To access the crossing, it is easier to access from Tynycoed on the Barry line. | |
| The trackbed is walkable as far as Station Road Criegiau, including the quarry spur although overgrown in places. | |
| The trackbed between Criegiau and the A4119 Llantrisant Rd bridge falls on private or agricultural land. Although the bridge has been removed, at Heol Pant Y Gored, the line looks very muddy. A4119 Llantrisant Rd bridge has been removed and only the south abutment remains dut to road widening. | |
| Between Crofft y Genau Road Bridge and Waterhall Rd Bridge the line is passable. It is however rather muddy in the cutting section between Pentrebane F.P. bridge (Partially dismantled) through the Railway crossing (formerly iron girder bridge, partially dismantled) to Crofft Y Genau Road. From Pentrebane F. P. Bridge to Waterhall Road, the line is relatively clear. | |
| From the public footpath at Waterhall plantation to the public footpath at Danescourt the line is open and maintained as a footpath/cycleway. | |
| Waterhall Junction has largely disappeared beneath a housing estate |
